Born in Ghana, Edwin Kweku Andoh Baffour is a proud vegan. A well-travelled pan African with a wealth of experience in the area of public relations, corporate communication as well as social responsibility and citizenship. Edwin is the CEO of Drum & Gong Ltd as well as a partner and director of Tag Team Ltd, a premium events company that created the iconic Mirror Ball old school entertainment concept in Ghana. Both companies offer world class services in public relations, corporate and brand communications, event, artiste and destination management.
Edwin has over a decade of working experience in senior management roles with some of the world’s leading multinational companies and most recently at Diageo, where he was the Head of Corporate Relations at Guinness Ghana Breweries Ltd. He has extensive experience in brand management having launched Standard Trust Bank (now UBA) as well as Fidelity Bank in Ghana. Edwin has a rich international experience and background, having lived in several African countries as well as graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from The College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, USA where he resided for over eight years.
In 2010 he decided to leave formal employment in the corporate world to seek his dreams and align with his purpose in life. As a practicing vegetarian he has served as the public relations officer of the Vegetarian Association of Ghana for over a decade and was among the delegation that attended the 42Nd World VegFest in Malaysia. At that conference Ghana was selected as the next venue for the 43rd World VegFest which would have been a first on African soil however due to the Ebola threat the conference had to be cancelled.
For the past three years he has volunteered as the Communications Director at Food Sovereignty Ghana, an NGO and advocacy group that has been at the fore front of the fight against the inclusion of genetically modified organisms (GMO) into the Ghana food production system. He also has a lot of experience promoting artistes and shows and has worked closely with some of the most acclaimed names from Ghana.
Edwin holds two diplomas in radio broadcasting and production from the Columbia School of Broadcasting in Virginia. He has directed many special events as the Master of Ceremony and has also participated in many radio productions. With several languages in his command, Edwin is able to think in a multi-cultural dimension, bringing a special touch to his work.
